A Playful Day At Pretend City Children's Museum

Imagine being a child and experiencing a big city for the first time. Pretend City Children’s Museum is a non-profit museum located in Irvine CA. At the museum, children are able to play through the 17 interactive exhibits which are all combined to make the experience look as if it is one large city. When you walk through the front door, you are greeted by the mini-mall. Your children then get to go explore the city including the opportunity to experience driving a toy car, traffic lights, shopping at Trader Joe’s, operating the controls to the amphitheater and many more awesome real-life activities.

As a nonprofit, the Pretend City’s mission is to help kids “build better brains” by providing many opportunities for hands-on-learning and playing with a purpose. This purposeful playing has proven to stimulate the brain of a child in many ways, thus helping young children use their brain in a meaningful way.

Pretend City also hosts many events to allow children to come dressed in a particular theme or help parents communicate with their children. Tickets to the museum cost just over $12 for adults and children, but provide you and your children with a day full of enjoyable growth activities. Pretend City also has membership options available. If you plan to attend the museum multiple times per year or attend as a family, a membership option may be better for you. The most notable of membership benefits include a discount for birthday celebrations and access to the members only hours where you get to experience the Pretend City as a more exclusive event.

If you have young kids (or are just a big kid like me), then you should definitely check out this wonderful nonprofit. Not only does it support a great cause, but it also provides an interactive way for you and your children to bond.
